For Round 1 of MDC, you will make two dolls, one of your character in modern casual clothes and one portrait. The modern outfit doesn't mean you can't be creative, though. Incorporate your character's personality into what she wears; a fantasy princess would probably dress very differently from a '20s flapper, even if they're both wearing modern clothes. Even if your character lives in 2007, design some new clothes for her.
Round 1 Rules
- All the rules from the Rules page still apply.
- Your entry must contain two dolls: a full doll dressed in modern casual clothing and a portrait wearing a tank top or something similarly skimpy.
- Your entry must have the character's name on it.
- Partial backgrounds are allowed, but full backgrounds are not. Props are okay too.
- Submit your entry as a transparent GIF or PNG to mdcharacter[at]gmail.com. Include your site URL (if you have one) and the URLs of both base sites.
- Send your entry in by September 3rd. This deadline isn't set in stone, but do try to stick to it.
A note on the example: Yes, I did make her up; she's a character from my fantasy novel. I didn't want to use a character that somebody else would want to reserve. She's going to be appearing in examples for all three rounds, just like a real entry.
